MY STORY

Luiza Schmidt (1994), born in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil, lives and works in Geneva, Switzerland. She graduated in Journalism from Estácio de Sá University and holds an MBA in Business Management. She currently works as an independent artisan.

Tapestry entered her life in childhood, at the age of 7, when she would watch her mother, Ana Maria, weave at home. She took part in her mother’s hobby in a light and spontaneous way.

At 27, after moving to Brasília, she joined a group of women who would gather to talk and make rugs together.

Her passion for tapestry awakened with intensity: Luiza revisited stitches she had learned in childhood, discovered new ones, refined her technique, and saw in tapestry an opportunity to unite art and work. This was how the idea of Textur was born, developed and tested throughout 2024.
